The Durst Lambda digital printer is a laser-based, large-format output device for high resolution printing of images on photosensitive material. Its input 24 bit/internal 36 bit color space is capable of 16.7 million colors. Using red, green, and blue lasers controlled by sensors and by Durst’s proprietary image creation software together with an optical system for the combining of the light beam independent of temperature exposes the digitized images one line at a time, pixel by pixel at the selected resolution of either 200 ppi or 400 ppi, on photosensitive materials including photographic paper and transparent or translucent photographic films.
